In order to become a registered mystery shopper with Business Evaluation Services, you must first read the following agreement letter and agree to all the terms and conditions. If you do not agree, you will not be allowed to register with our company.

Terms of Agreement:

Mystery Shopper Application

At this time we are only accepting US & Canada Registrations

 

In order to register with Business Evaluation Services as an Independent Contracting Mystery Shopper, you must read the agreement letter in it’s entirety as well as take and successfully pass a test. After you have passed the test, you will then be able to complete the registration page and begin to search for available assignments in your area. However, if you do not agree, you will not be allowed to register with BES.

 

All information must be completed on the registration page in order to be eligible for assignments. If there is any information you are uncomfortable giving over the internet, you may leave that information blank and contact us by phone to give us the additional information.

 

When completing the areas available section, you will want to list as many areas as possible that you are available for work. This will increase you chances for work with BES as we search by area when looking for shoppers.

 

We also maintain a “Frequently Asked Questions” page. If you have additional questions before or after registering, we recommend that you go to this page and read all of the FAQ’s to be better educated on the mystery shopper process with Business Evaluation Services.

 

 

“Important Information about Becoming a Mystery Shopper:”

 

Independent Contractor:

 

  • Working as a mystery shopper you are an independent contractor, not employed or retained in any means by Business Evaluation Services. You do not have any obligation to accept assignments from BES or any other shopper companies that may contact you due to your listing in the Business Evaluation Services database, unless you choose to do so under your own agreement with such companies.

 

  • As an independent contractor, you are not eligible for any company benefits and will be paid on a per-completed assignment basis only. Therefore, you are not eligible to apply for unemployment based on your contracting with BES or any other shopper company that contracts with you to conduct mystery audits. Additionally, as an independent contractor, you will be responsible for keeping your own earnings records and reporting your earnings to the governing tax boards as BES does not withhold taxes for you. As per the IRS requirements, BES will send you a 1099 statement of earnings form at the end of each calendar year if you earn $600.00 or more in the calendar year. If you have earned less than $600.00, you will not receive a 1099 from our company. 

 

  • You are also responsible for invoicing BES for each of your completed shops. As an added convenience, we have added an automated invoicing page for you to invoice BES for each of your completed assignments. You will receive the automated invoice upon completing each assignment on-line. If for any reason you do not receive the automated invoice, it is still your responsibility to send an invoice to BES in order to receive payment. However, if for any reason you do not receive the invoice, please contact our office so that we can be sure it is functioning properly.

 

  • It is your responsibility as a shopper to read over the “FAQ’s for Mystery Shoppers” on this website, along with reviewing all “shoppers” categories of the site to familiarize yourself on what our company is all about and how we work.

 

 

Confidentiality Agreement:

 

  • BES requires that you agree to keep all information confidential about BES. This includes and is not limited to: Customer Lists, Process’s, Procedures, Technology, Methodology, Reporting, Forms, Pricing or any other proprietary information you may be privy to during your course of work through BES. The term of protection of confidentiality is to remain in effect for a 2 year period after information has been disclosed to you.

 

 

Rating System:

 

  • Business Evaluation Services uses a rating system to rate the quality of work you provide using the numbers 1-10 (1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest).  Your score is affected by several factors:

 

  • Timeliness – Accuracy – Content – Grammar – Spelling – Following Directions – Each Time You Are Unassigned For An Assignment

 

  • As your account manager reviews your completed work, they will rate your report and performance in each of these areas and apply an overall score. Our system averages all of your work collectively and averages your personal score. In order to be one of the first considered for an assignment, you will need to maintain a minimum rating of a 7. Therefore, it is very important that if you accept an assignment, that you do it according to the requirements and “On Time” as well as keeping all the other considerations in mind.

 

  • If you are unscheduled for shops multiple times with invalid reasons your score will be lowered to a point that you may not be considered for future work with BES.

 

 

 

“Critical Information to Be Successful As a Mystery Shopper with BES”

 

 

Being Reliable:

 

  • Reliability is one of the most important aspects of being a successful shopper. If you apply for, and accept assignments, BES is counting on you to fulfill your assignment as agreed. Mystery shoppers that do not complete their assignments are a liability for our company and will soon be deactivated from our system as an available shopper. If this happens, you will no longer be eligible for future shops. Therefore, it is imperative that you only accept jobs you intend to complete. We realize that occasionally things come up that are out of your control and shops have to be reassigned. However, a reliable shopper will contact us immediately to inform us of the problem so that it can be assigned to another shopper to meet our deadlines. 

 

 

Being Anonymous:

 

  • Being a shopper requires you to stay anonymous at all times. Therefore, you are NEVER to disclose or reveal that you are a mystery shopper during an assignment. You must always conduct the shops anonymously so that you are not detected by the staff. A good shopper should be able to visit the same location multiple times without ever being discovered. Because this is crucial, you must never take forms or notes into the location with you.

 

  • Also, you must never contact a client of BES for any reason. This includes disputes for payment or any other reason.

 

  • You may not shop at a location or at a company where you, your friends or any relatives are employed.  If this occurs, you will automatically be de-activated from our system and will never be eligible to shop for BES in the future. If you know that we are shopping a location where you, a friend or relative work, it is your responsibility to inform us so that this does not happen even by accident.

 

 

Following Instructions:

 

  • Before requesting an assignment, you must read the shop notes that outline the requirements of the assignment. (Due dates, shop specifics etc.) Then, if you are interested AND available the days the shops are due to be completed, you may request the assignment.

 

  • After receiving an assignment, you must carefully and fully read the instructions and shop forms that relate to each individual assignment. You must do this every time even if you have been assigned to this company in the past as instructions and the way to perform the shop can and WILL change from time to time.

 

 

Requesting Shops:

 

  • It is your responsibility as a shopper / independent contractor to check your “assigned shops” online if you are requesting assignments. You are to check online until the shop(s) has/have been removed from your requested shops list. We are telling you to do this incase our auto-emails do not reach you for some reason (junk mail, full inbox, etc. – make sure our emails are listed in your contacts list)

If you see a shop on the website with a past due date, please choose one of the following options;

  • Call or email the office to find out what the new due date is going to be on the shop.
  • Wait until the new due date is posted and then request the shop.

If you request a shop with a past due date without knowing which new date will be posted and you are assigned to the shop, you will be responsible to complete the shop on it's new due date, no matter what it may be. To avoid a date that you will not be available, please call or email in to find out/verify the new due date or wait until you see the new due date online, then request the shop at that time.

 

Conducting Your Shops:

 

  • Before you leave to conduct your shops, be sure of the information you will be required to collect. (I.e. persons name to shop if required, information on shop forms to remember etc.)

 

  • ALWAYS get the name of all associates that assist you when conducting your shops. Also, remember to pay attention to details about the individual(s) so that you can describe them if necessary. When describing an associate shopped always use factual terms such as (height, weight, hair color, approximate age, wearing glasses etc.) Avoid descriptions that could be discriminative or offensive such as (fat, overweight or by an ethnic reference such as Mexican etc.)

 

  • You must collect as much information as possible when performing your shop.

 

  • You must collect a business card on all shops that this is applicable. If shopping at a restaurant or any other business that requires you to make a purchase of any kind, you MUST obtain a receipt. When submitting your report, you must also turn in an original receipt and or business card in order for your assignment to be considered complete.

 

  • Your shops must be turned in on time. All assignments have a shop between and shop due date. The shop “Between Dates” are the dates you can shop on. The shop “due date” is the date your shop needs to be completed / turned on online by 11:59pm that day.

 

 

Completing a Report:

 

  • Shops may be completed online ONLY as we do not accept faxed or mailed reports.

 

  • All answers must be true, reflective and accurate. Also, all commentary fields must be completed with great detail. Simple yes and no short answers are not acceptable. You must give complete detailed sentences describing your experience. The person reading your report should understand what took place during your visit by your comments.

 

  • You must be available after completing your assignment to your account manager in case they have questions about your report. If you plan to be unavailable after completing your shop, be sure to contact your account manager or a staff member at BES to notify them so they can review your report before you become unavailable.

 

  • Always use proper grammar, spelling, capitalization and punctuations when completing your report. Also, use your cap keys correctly. All upper case or lower case lettering is NOT acceptable.

 

 

 

Technology:

 

  • Our site is on a pop-up form. In order to use our forms you must turn off your popup blocker. Otherwise, you will be unable to complete your forms.

 

  • The browsers that our system supports are Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher and Netscape. In order to successfully use our system, you will need to be using one of these browsers. If you are not, you will need to download one of the types mentioned.

 

  • You will receive auto-generated and direct emails from Business Evaluation Services. Please make sure that none of our emails are going to your junk folder:

Adding all these email above in your email Contact list should prevent them from going into your Junk/Spam box.

 

  • You will receive emails (sometimes on a daily basis) informing you of shops in your area/city/state.

 

 

Payment:

 

  • Payment print outs for all shops typically takes 40 to 60 BUSINESS Days (Mon - Fri) from the approved/edited date of your shop {unless otherwise noted in your shop notes online}. Your pay check will be sent to the mailing address that you have entered in our database.

 

  • Shops that have to be edited extensively or are late may result in a lower per-shop pay. Shops that are late may be un-scheduled and reassigned to another shopper. If this happens, even if you conducted the shop, you will not receive payment. Therefore, always do your work on time and communicate with your account manager.

 

 

BUSINESS CARDS / RECEIPTS:


It is MANDATORY that ALL shoppers provide verification of every single shop conducted! 

 

You are REQUIRED to scan and EMAIL your verification/proof of shop (business cards, receipts, or anything else that was given to you during your evaluation) to:  ninag@mysteryshopperservices.com 

 

(When scanning and emailing, please provide the shop ID# of the shops in the email - AND please keep the originals on file for at least three months) 

 

IF you don't have access to scan and email, you are REQUIRED to KEEP A COPY of your verification/proof of shop (business cards, receipts, or anything else that was given to you during your evaluation) and MAIL in the Originals to;

IF you FAIL to send in verification/proof of shop, it will be counted as INCOMPLETE and you will not be paid until verification/proof of shop is received!

 

 

 

Below is an overview of the above mentioned information that must be agreed to before we can complete your registration:

 

-- I give permission for any or all information provided on this application to be used for the purpose of mystery shopping recruitment. I understand BES is a member of the MSPA (Mystery Shopper Providers Association) and that information may periodically be shared with other MSPA members and companies that hire mystery shoppers, and I will be listed as a qualified shopper for use by any of these firms (Note: BES will never share the social security numbers of it's shoppers with any other companies)

 

-- I am an independent contractor, not employed or retained in any means by Business Evaluation Services. I do not have any obligation to accept assignments from any companies that contact me due to my listings in the Business Evaluation Services database, unless I choose to do so, based on my own agreement with such companies. Any assignment accepted by me will be fully and diligently completed as agreed upon unless other arrangements are agreed upon with the subscriber.

 

 -- When I have completed my mystery shop/s I agree to submit them online ONLY at www.mysteryshopperservices.com unless otherwise instructed by a Business Evaluation Services staff member. Failure to do so may result in a lower pay for the shop.

 

 -- Before conducting my assigned shops I will read over the instructions and forms thoroughly. And if I do have any questions I will contact a Business Evaluation Services staff member by phone or email A.S.A.P.

 

 -- If I cannot complete my shop/s for any reason I will contact a Staff member at Business Evaluation Services IMMEDIATELY BY PHONE. If a BES staff member is not available I may email as well as leave a message on the operator’s voice mail.  (888) 300-8292

 

 -- I agree to provide as much information as possible in the report, as well as check my spelling and grammar before submitting the report online (website)

 

 -- I agree to have my shop/s fully completed and turned in by 11:59pm on the due date given, if not my shop will be unscheduled and I will not be reimbursed.

 

-- I understand that I will not be paid until I have provided proof/verification of each shop.

 

-- I agree that if I take a shop that I will collect verification/proof of shop and send it in immediately after completing my shop online, by either; scanning and emailing it in OR mailing it in (NO fax). I also agree that I will keep a copy of the verification/proof of shop in my own file for at least 3 months. I agree that if I do NOT turn in my verification/proof of shop that I will not be reimbursed by Business Evaluation Services.

 

-- I agree to conduct all assignments contracted through Business Evaluation Services as outlined by the instructions of each individual assignment, and if I fail to do so I will not be reimbursed

 

 -- I understand that Business Evaluation Services has a rating system using the numbers 1-10 (1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest).  My score is affected by how well I perform and completed each of my shops.  I also understand that, if my shops are late, canceled or re-scheduled, it will also have an affect on my overall score

 

 -- I agree that any and all information collected is the sole property of Business Evaluation Services and is to be held in strict confidentiality. I also understand that payment print outs for all shops typically takes 40 to 60 BUSINESS Days (Mon - Fri) from the approved/edited date of your shop {unless otherwise noted in your shop notes online}. 

 

IF you get an error message or get booted out of the test, please log all of the way out of our site, log back in/on and then take the test again, it usually works the second time around (if you have any problems). If you still receive an error after trying the second time, please call in right away: 888-300-8292.

 

You are now ready to take the test.

 

After selecting "Agree", you will take a test that requires a passing score of at least 85% meaning you can only miss 3 questions to successfully pass. If you miss more than the allowed amount, you will be brought back to this agreement page and must re-take the test.
